Barbados, located in the Caribbean region, is an island country and it is a member of the World Trade Organization. It is a thriving country with high living standards. The nation's economy had previously relied on the cultivation of sugarcane, but the economy has now expanded and manufacturing (mainly chemicals, electrical components and clothing) and tourism serve as the main economic sectors. However, sugar still serves as an important product and stands as the largest export of the country. Main industries of the country are tourism, sugar, light manufacturing and component assembly for export. |
